texas. My parents want to protect some property they have now that they are retired and feel like if they get sick or in need of additional medical care all of this property won't go to medical bills. They have been thinking of putting this property in my name, their son. I'm not sure how all this works, and i'm just asking a few questions here. 1. Is there a time frame to which they can do this so that the property is protected. Such as, if they give me the property say, tomorrow, 20 months from now will it still be considered eligible for paying their debts later down the line. 2. They are interested in qualifying for medicaid, will this help. 3. My father gets about 2400 out of his social security a month, my mother does not receive social security, she was always a homemaker. Is this too much to qualify for medicaid. Thank you for your time, anyone reading this and able to offer advice.
