What is the name of your state? N.Y. I live on a corner. One car ran the stop sign hitting into a car, then sending that car up a curb and across my lawn severly damaging my car in the driveway. As of now the car that ran the sign is taking 100% responsibility but my car has $10,000 + worth of damage and is worth $18,000. They won't total my car but I would like to know what can be done to reimburse me the depriciation my car will have when I go to sell it. Now that Carfax is such a huge factor in how people search for cars. I'm just upset seeing that I shouldn't be penalized for being parked in my drive way. Is there anything I can do?

Pretty simple. Next time purchase 'diminished value' coverage. Then THAT car will be protected.

Accidents happen. They are not always going to be your fault. Nothing can be done for the depreciated value of your vehicle. You aren't being penalized for being parked in your driveway. Heck, you're the one that decided to live on that corner, right? My point is that when the insurance company pays to have your vehicle repaired, they have satisfied their responsibility.
