I would be really grateful if someone could help. I live in a duplex with very limited parking. Two spaces are allocated for each side of the house. This leaves very little room for manouvering. My next door neighbor occasionally has a girlfriend stay the night. When I went to work both my neighbours cars were in their allocated spaces, however the girl had parked directly behind my car in the turning area, I could not see her car from my house, and I did not see her when I reversed my truck out of its usual spot into the turning area. As a consequence I bumped her car. It did not seem to have much damage but she went out and got a huge quote for over $2000. I feel that the responsibility to repair her car falls on both of us and we should split the cost, she was parked on private property, and she parked irresponsibly. Is this valid?

No. You hit her car.
