My daughter returned to her car to find a ticket affixed to the windshield for expired inspection. The car is registered in NY and the ticket was issued in Nassau County NY. The inspection was expired (oops), however, when the police officer filled out the registration it was crossed out and then the correct registration was written above it (barely legible). He/she also made the same mistake with the registration expiration date. Its as if he/she started to write another vehicle, changed their mind and then filled in my info. I remember reading somewhere that the ticket can be thrown out due to this type of mistake. Is that true?
