What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? california

2 weeks ago, we were erroneously issued a no parking violation due to street sweeping;

but the street sweeper did not come by during the 2-hour or even later during the day at all!

we were going to contest it, but the city does have anything on file!

we later found that the school district police issued it!!!

due to the sloppiness of the officer, the license plate was written illegibly and the street address location was also wrong...we live in an apartment complex.

still, we went on the online pay your ticket for both the city and the school district, and our citation number is not on file. entering the right license number still produce not on file. even after entering what appeared as the wrong license plate, still not on file....

my wife states to leave it alone and have either the city or the school district respond back! although on the bottom of the citation, it states
that if payment or request to contest is not made within 21 days, the fine will be increased. the current fine is at $58. my wife states that it is worth to do nothing at this point to help the issuing school district right the information.

Your wife is a fool. I would suggest visiting the agency that issued to ticket and if possible, pay the fine there. Late fees and other costs could add a couple hundred dollars to the fine and/or suspension of your vehicles license.

Irrelevant, the ticket is still valid. You can't park in the no parking zone during the designated hours, period.
