Well, if he’s driving the car he has to buy fuel somewhere. Might as well be st the truck stop

He might even avail himself of the showers available at some truck stops. Yes is cost money. I don’t recall how much

The charge is nominal and they are actually quite nice in some locations. My friends stopped in a truck stop after camping and they had both a shower and a tub and the counter clerk offered them soap and even bubble bath in addition to towels.
