Not sure if this is the right place to get some answer, but here it goes:
My roommate's friend decided to leave his stereo equipment at our house. It was left there for almost two months. We had a party one night (which he was at), and his stuff (that had been sitting there for two months) got stolen. He is saying that we need to pay for his stuff that got stolen, because it was in our house. This doesn't sound right to me. He has borrowed over $700 from my roommate, and now says since his stuff was stolen at our house, he doesn't owe any money. Shouldn't it have been his responsibility to remove his property from our house. Why is it our responsibility to pay for his loss?
