i am from east tennessee. about 5 years ago i won a case in chancery court against an ex boyfriend i lived with. after the hearing my lawyer told me i would probably not get anything. however, now i know my ex is financially solvent. is he still required to pay up? where do i go to get a copy of the court record showing i won the case. i never received anything. thank you very much!!!

Tennessee judgments are good for 10 years, making your judgment still valid.

I would suggest contacting the original court (that heard your case) and ask them for a copy of the judgment. Once you get the copy, you can determine the total value of your judgment (including interest) and enforce your judgment against the judgment debtor.
