What is the name of your state? South Australia

Im not sure if the laws are anywhere near the same in America as they are here or if there is an australian version of this site but I do need advice anyway.

My ex husband and I have been separated (since divorced) for over 6 years, we separated one month before my youngest daughter was born. Four years after our separation, I met someone and started a relationship, since then my ex husband has tried every way to get residency of the two daughters from our marriage, (I also have 2 daughters from a previous marriage, no problems there) and a son from my present relationship, which is also something my ex has a problem with. My ex husband has failed in all previous attempts and now he is telling his lawyer that he disputes paternity as his sister told him I had an affair with someone while I visited with her (she was expecting her first child and I was her coach). Fact: I didnt but this was 11 months before the birth of the child in question!!!
Here's the tricky bit, he is claiming I had affairs to discredit my reputation.

Am I able to sue for defamation and slander from either my ex husband or his sister? 2 of my children are now adults and I have some sort of weird need to maintain my reputation for my family's sake.

sorry but U.S. law is very different from Australian law.

Has your ex agreed to a paternity test to settle the issue?
