Hi All,
I am a dental hygienist in the state of MI--and i worked in 4 offices. one office that i worked for that my cousin was a part owner of the offmanager didn't like me and harassed my cousin relentlessly --so she talked to me and we decided to let me go.
She new full well i would have to file for unemployment--so i did. Here's the problem: another office i work for received papers regarding my status: from what i understand they have to biweekly petition so that they do not have to contribute to the unemployment benefit and since i didn't apprise them that i had filed against the other office- they pulled me into a meeting and told me they discussed the situation and decided to put a cap on what they pay their ptime hygienist---they docked me 3 bucks--
i made 33/hr and now it's going to be 30/hr. Can they do this to me? I've done nothing wrong! I cannot help they have more paperwork--those 2 days i lost from my cousin were a significant amount of gross income. I feel stuck and don't know if i have any recourse.
