What is the name of your state? California. My 12 year old daughter wants to live with my parents because of conflicts with my fiance, they applied for temporary guardianship and I will not contest. My parents have a three times higher income then mine, now they want the childsupport payment from my exhusband and additional payment from me.I need the childsupport payment to provide for her bedroom incase she wants to move back.My fiance is unemployed.Do I have to pay?

Why should you NOT have to help support your child? Especially when you want to choose some may-un over the kid? What is wrong with you?

why are you letting your daughter make a decision shes not legally able to make? she is a child. she doesnt get to decide whom to live with untill shes 18. if she did not want to go to her father's, would you let her stay home? tell her she doesnt run the show, and shes not going. period. she will just have to learn to get along with your fiance

you need to make it clear to her that SHE is the child, YOU are the parent, and acting like a spoiled brat isnt going to get her anything but a sound spanking. its time to put your foot down, and let your daughter know she isnt running the show like she thinks she is. if i acted like that, id have a sore bottom, believe me. mom didnt let us get away with that nonsense.

The child support your ex husband pays is to take care of your child not your unemployed boyfriend. If your parents are granted guardianship, the court will expect both you and your ex husband to support the child and will calculate your share, so yes, your parents are entitled to child support from both you and your ex. That is the law.

I suggest your boyfriend get a job and support himself. Perhaps your 12 yo daughter realized that her grandparents have her best interest at heart.

Years ago, my 10yr old son didn't get along with my boyfriend. Guess which one is still around?

Anyone who would chose their boyfriend over their child doesn't deserve the child anyway.

You don't specify what these conflicts are, but I would be telling the boyfriend to shape up or ship out.

Plus, if you sign over your rights to your parents, forget about ever getting your daughter back.

What have you done that is so terrible that your CHILD can use it against you? (other then the whole choosing a man over your own CHILD thing) If she's making things up, don't just let her have her way. That will only make matters worse.

If she really DOES have dirt on you, then she's better off with the grandparents and you should be ordered to pay twice as much support then the guidelines call for. Not only for whatever the terrible act was, but for putting your child into a situation where she actually KNOWS about it!
