I payed a deposit on a house rental for an employee with a company check. This deposit was a loan and was never paid back by the employee(who no longer works for me). I have found out that he is moving. Can I claim the deposit from the landlord since it was paid by my company even though the lease is in the employee's name? Remember the deposit was a company check. Kentucky laws would apply here.

I don't know anything at all about Kentucky laws, but I would guess, Probably Not, the deposit must be returned to the tenant. Who put it up for him is a matter between you and he.
