What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I run a community organization where most people we serve are very poor. The organization has $40K from donation that is to be used for funeral and other expenses when members die. Since this fund is limited, I was thinking to use the money to help members buy term life insurance. The catch will be that the members will need to make the organization one of their beneficiaries. Would insurance companies allow this? Is this legal?
