I hired a tree contracting service on 6/5/2017 to remove 3 trees, as well as grind two stumps, and one tree’s roots. They told me that the project would be completed no later than 7/14/2017. When in reality, it’s 8/22/2017 and they still haven’t completed the job. They only ended up removed two trees, ground one stump, and roots. However, in the process they left the place a mess, removed my fence(and didn’t put it back), broke a small floodlight, and cracked my driveway. They are now asking me to pay my invoice that contains both the services they did, and not complete. I won’t be paying for the services they didn’t complete. Question is: Do I need to pay for the services they did complete, even though they never finished the job and left worksite a mess? What are my legal options?
