What is the name of your state? Iowa

Sometime ago, I agreed to be the cashier in ebay auctions held by an individual, to collect their customers' paypal payments, and then later on forward it to them and they proceed with shipping the items to the customer.

Well recently, I delayed forwarding the payments to the seller due to family issues, and was late 2 weeks. I have forwarded the money via wire transfer to the seller as of today. So the ideal scenario right now would be for the seller to send the items to the customer.

At the same time 1 of the customers does a chargeback with my paypal account, because her items have not arrived yet. (2 weeks) As of now my paypal account is in the negative.

The other customer will also do a creditcard chargeback, thus making me even deeper in the hole, if his products do not show up, or if he doesnt receive a reply with tracking information from the seller.

So basically my question is that IF the products were not to arrive to them, what actions would be in the best of my interests to take? This would consist of the seller having posession of the money, and also the products, and me left with a huge negative debt in my paypal account. What actions can I possibly take towards the seller?

I really do not want to be the one forking out almost $4k, and possibly getting sued. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Hopefully, you have learned the lesson NOT to buy ANYTHING over the Internet, and to buy LOCALLY. That way you won't get cheated again. But, for now, there's nothing you can do, and you're out of luck.

So you are saying that the seller can get away with the posession of the products and the payments?

Good interpretation.

Obviously you aren't the only person on this board, so stop speaking for everyone else. But like I said before any help is appreciated.

"Obviously" I'm the only one who cares to respond to you! You've lost your money. It would cost more to recover it than it's worth. Now, stop buying and selling online. While you're at it, look up the word "jurisdiction" and see what it would cost you to "fight" across State lines.

Now, go to bed.

while I understand issues may have been on your mind that took priority over your ebay "job" you still should have been doing it or made the seller aware that you were unable to for a period of time- did you contact the seller immediately about the item that needed a tracking number?

and quite honestly if my stiff hadn't been sent out after two weeks I would have done the charge back too- can you ask the seller to refund you the money for the items not sold? and you might get less back than you sent him because you are the cause of the failed sales, there might be some restocking fees, or transfer fees, that come out of what he sends back- and that would be totally appropriate

You are fully responsible!! You chose to accept payments for a seller! You were delayed in sending payments recieved to the seller!

The only thing to do at this point is to ask the seller to get a tracking # on the package so you can pass it on to the buyer who is still waiting for their package. Also tell the seller if he does send the package for the chargeback filed then he also needs a tracking # for that so you can show proof of shipment. I think your better off trying to get the money back from the seller and putting it back towards your negative so that the buyer can just be reimbursed.

Well at this point I have not received any responses from the seller, and also at this point in time 1 customer has done a cc chargeback, while the other customer I refunded his payment but it is still uncleared.

I think it's safe to assume that the products will not be coming, since there have been no repsonses to us. If there really is no step I can take to even attempt to try to get my money back, or even the products for that matter, The money to recover my negative paypal account will have to come out of my pocket. That is definitely the last thing I want to have happen. :(

Wow, have I learned a lesson.

Yup. First you piled crap on top of crap with the original agreement with the seller, and then not getting the payment out right away. Not satisfied with that, you dug a hole under the piles of crap and climbed under all of it.

In other words, you are in deep doo doo without a decent shovel. But, you may be able to buy one on Ebay and get it when the seller gets around to sending it.

Gag. ;)
