So, I got a letter from Gothia saying I owe them 250 USD. Gothia is a Debt collection agency used by Paypal to collect debts in Denmark. This debt originated from a buyer requesting a chargeback after receiving the item purchased, the usual story of how Paypal ****s over sellers. Though after reading multiple posts on various forums about similar issues, I never could seem to find a definite answer to; Can Gothia actually do anything else than sending me to "åben RKI register" (A danish register to archive "Bad credit score")
I'm not planning to on repaying them(the chargeback was ridiculous), unless they actually intend on taking me to court, since in Denmark the winning side gets all expenses paid in these cases, therefore making it free for Gothia to take me to court.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: So I read a bit on danish laws regarding debt collection and found the following
"If the claim is undisputed, or a dispute is not expected, and it does not exceed DKK 100,000.00 (my debt does not exceed this) a simplified procedure may be applied and a request for payment may be sent directly to the bailiff (instead of trying the case before a civilian court). The debtor is notified and is given the opportunity to contest the claim. If he fails to do so, the request will be treated as a judgment and will be enforced accordingly. If the claim is contested the case will be tried in a civilian court." Has anyone experienced it getting as far as a civilian court, or have the eventually stop harrassing?
