If you have an invention and wish to file a PCT (patent cooperation treaty) how long will it take to get it granted and can you get it accelerated?

What is the name of your state or, if not in the US, what is the name of your country?

The Patent Cooperation Treaty is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) but if you are in the US, US inventors can apply for PCT patent protection with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The USPTO is a designated receiving office of the International Bureau. http://www.uspto.gov

You can pay extra for a prioritized application.

For specific information, you can obtain the "PCT Applicant's Guide" from WIPO - http://www.wipo.org

Thank you, do you get first to file patent pending status on a global patent?
This question was asked on this forum in 2005 and answered by FreeAdvice's patent law attorney. Here is a link: https://forum.freeadvice.com/patents-104/there-international-patent-pending-294160.html

There have been changes in patent laws in the last 12 years but I don't believe there have been changes in the patent pending area since 1995 (at least in the US). You can use the WIPO link provided earlier to check for changes in international laws.
