I am about to separate from my husband of 17 years. Neither one of us can afford to remain in the house. We recently filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, I am having my wages garnished for the repayment to the Trustee. The house has no equity in it, we had refinanced it a few years ago, got behind on the mortgage, owe too much. Can we let the lender just foreclose? How do I go about it? We would rather not have to worry about selling now, I just want to get out with my kids, I will be renting. What problems could I run into just stopping payment on the mortgage?
Any help would be great. Thanks. Oh, we live in Ohio.
