What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN. I was denied my late husband's pension..he died 4/25/08...would have turned 62 1/16/09..was vested with the company..they said because he did not pick surviving spouse in 1984(after REA of 1984) I am not due pension. I believe REA is amended to ERISA...that choice of spouse benefits not required,,but automatic..required if choice is someone other than spouse
