What is the name of your state? Colorado
I have over the past year refused to let my children be alone with someone that I am very suspicious about and have told him that I don't trust him being alone with my male child. There are others that feel the same way. He is claiming that I am slandering his name in the community and plans to take me and others to court over this. Does he have any legal rights to do this? He also called me a few days ago and recorded our telephone conversation and sent a copy of it to the others involved. Is that illegal to tape without my consent? What should I do? thanks for your time.....

Colorado is a one-party state, so he's within his rights to record conversations that he's a party to.

You're allowed not to trust anybody for any reason. As long as you're not going around making accusations that you know to be false, then you're just fine.

The problem is that I have no proof that he has done anything inappropriate so it's his word against ours. His behavior is very strange and unusual around younger boys but he says that our claims are false so how can the real truth be brought out?
