What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
The state is MA. It's a personal injury case,my friend has a lawyer, but the lawyer said that she will be my friend's representative only in civil court. My friend is a victim. Is it possible to hire another attorney to represent my friend as a victim on the trial?Or DA is the only one who is gonna defend in criminal court? And if it's ok to hire the attorney, will it help?Is it worth the money? And one more question, please. Can we appeal the jurge's decision after the trial?Thank you so much!!!

You need to parse that out more for clarification.

Your friend has a personal injury case, is she the plaintiff or defendant?

In a criminal case, if your friend is not the defendant (alleged wrong-doer) than she is the victim, or more accurately a witness. If she is not the defendant in the criminal case she doesn't need an attorney. She is only there to testify as to what she personally witnessed or experienced.

The prosecutor will be on his side in the criminal court. Your friend may want to ask about victim's services in the court, depending on the details and availablity of services.

It will always be more helpful to have an experienced, professional attorney represent you as opposed to your friend doing it themselves, with no legal training or knowledge. Why don't you hire the same attorney to represent you in all courts as opposed to having 2? After the trial, if you want to appeal the judge's order, he/she will give you and your lawyer information on how to do that.

If you are going with 2 people later on you will be facing some problem with them if there thoughts differ from each other.
