What is the name of your state? Texas
My husband's personal truck (which is 85% used for business and purchasing it was a requirement for getting the job) was stolen at a jobsite this week. All of the employer's equipment was in the truck when it was stolen. My husband was working at the time it happened. What is our liability and what is the liability of his employer regarding both the truck and the commercial contents? His employer expects us to pay for everything.

Reply to insurance question

In reply to your question, our auto insurance is covering the stolen vehicle (hopefully -- they asked us every way you can ask what percentage the vehicle is used for business). As far as we know, his employer does not have business insurance. This is why he wants us to pay for the stuff. We aren't comfortable filing the contents under our homeowners policy because it is not OUR property. The employer provides all of it.
