I lent a boyfriend $3300 to buy a car for his daughter on a promise to pay me back. A year later he moved out, didn't pay back the money, but returned the car which no longer ran, which I didn't know. I spent $1200 trying to get it in running condition to sell it, but was never able to get it running or sell it. I was offered $300 for it by the repair shop, so gave it to charity for $2500 tax deduction. I hv small claims hearing 3/2/00 to try to get my money from him. Will I get it? Also trying to get back $1600 for his daughter's dentist bill, his parent's vacation expenses he incurred, and other "promises to pay" totaling $5000 when he lived with me rent free. Do I have a prayer? He actually owes me about $10,000 in loans and living expenses but small claims only allows $5000. Thank you.
