What is the name of your state? MO

Are you required to report and and pay personal property tax on a travel trailer in Missouri? The reason that I ask is because my stepmonster is trying to sell a travel trailer from my father's estate (she is NOT) on the title. When I tried to look up the statutes, I can't find trailers mentioned specifically, even though there are spaces on the personal property tax forms. There are mo declarations for the past 8 years on the county records.

My stepmonster filed a fraudulent gift affidavit and forged not only my father's signature, but also the signature of his former girlfriend (who was still on the title) As always, I appreciate any advice from the members on the forum.

Why does it even matter whether or not there are property taxes. Surely you can prove that the signatures are forged?

Curious to know if Estate will have tax liability from previous years

Yes, I can prove fraud. My concern is whetjer the estate will have to pay personal property taxes after issue is resolved? I think the trailer is gone and I don't know whether to hold a "reserve" for taxes when we turn in the insurance claim for the theft?

Thanks!

I{ know I probably sound like an ingrate, but this is a very bizarre and sad situation.

You would really have to ask that question of someone who is familiar with your local property taxes. That is almost a county by county issue.
