MT in Las Vegas

I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. My question is this. Can an an employer, refuse to hire someone, on the basis that they have NO personal references? I am a person, who does not go out, or even socialize with others. Thus, have no "Friends", or Aquaintances. (Other than previous employers.)
Although this is NOT against FEDERAL law, (Or IS it?)

ANY advice would help. I am concidering litigation on this matter.

Yes. An employer can refuse to hire someone on that basis.

An employer may not refuse to hire someone because of their race, religion, national origin, gender, disability, age or pregnancy. They may not refuse to hire someone because they have filed for a protected benefit in the past. Depending upon what state they are in they may or may not be able to refuse to hire someone because of a felony conviction, because they do or do not smoke, or because they do or don't pass a drug test or unemployment physical.

But there is no law that says an employer must hire someone who does not have the type of references that they require.
