Pet before Lease

I had my pet before the lease was signed. They had prior knowledge of the pet prior to me signing a six month lease. Now they are asking for an condicial re-sign of an new lease and renters insurance (can't get any for this area). How do I get this fixed?

what state do you live in and why cant you get renters insurnace...you live in the projects, with drug dealers hookers..
