The trustee of my fathers trust has petitioned to resign. No others named as successor trustee want the responsibility. Disabled brother only beneficiary who has not inherited. Trustee is leaving it to court to find a successor. Can I petition the court to be named trustee? If so do I have to wait until the trustee's resignation is finalized? What steps do I have to take to do this?

Hire trust attorney.

trust has an attorney

Do I need to hire a trust attorney of my own? There is already a trust attorney hired by the trustee resigning. Can I contact her or do I need one of my own?
