What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
I am a victim of domestic violence and yesterday I learned that my peers at work have composed a petition and have taken this to the physicians I work for in an attempt to get me fired. I am a supervisor of the front office and the nurse manager brought this to my attention after she learned of the happenings. What had happened was, the "X" had called 2 of the employees personal cell phones and made threats of coming to the office and killing everyone. I do have an order of protection in place, which is list as "NO CONTACT" with anyone that I am associated with. I made it perfectly clear with the judge that he is not to contact anyone I work with as well as my family and it was granted. He has the employees phone numbers because he broke into my home and stole my blackberry. The physicians I work for have been nothing but supportive and I am disgusted at my peers for the way they have treated me. None of them know that I know what they are up to.
My question or concern is, can my employer fire me for "HIS" conduct that I have no control over or do you think they could lie and use some other excuse. I have a steller record at work and have nothing negitive in my file. Can anyone give me some advice or suggestions as how to handle this situation to make sure things are not blown out of the water.
