I leave on an acre of land and have a big pond in the back. We purchased 3 ducks to stay in the pond. Well they decide to venture to the front of my house into the drainage ditch. Now the ducks are crossing the street. We found them in the neighbors ditch. She started feeding them.My concern is if they are crossing the street and someone tries to avoid them and they cause and accident will I be liable. I know there is a leash law for dogs. What about ducks? I can't put a leash on them. I can't keep them in the yard. Their wings are not cut they can fly but they don't leave. They live in my pond though. Do I need to get rid of my ducks?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

You have adopted a wild animal and are responsible for the safety of the animals and anyone who comes into contact with them. If there domiciled area is your pond, then you need to ensure that they are confined to that area with a fence or similiar device. If you don't want to do that then you should get rid of the ducks.

Tell the ducks to leave and quit feeding them. Then they are wild animals again!
