Hello everybody! I am new on this forum and I am here hoping that maybe some of you could give me an advice. I would like to thank you in advance for taking your time to read my story.

I bought a phone from www.XXX.com in November 2016. After using it for several months, a yellow spot appeared on the left corner of the display, so I decided to send it to warranty and have it fixed.
I called XXX Company customer service in October 2017 and they provided a shipping label to send my phone to the warranty, XX Services XXX. On 26th of October 2017, I sent my phone to that adress, being delivered on 30th of October 2017.
Couple weeks later I try to contact XX Company to get an update on the situation, but nobody would answer the phone. After several attempts of calling every single day, I decided that maybe it'd be better to contact them via e-mail. Yet, no answer. It's been almost a month of trying to get in touch with XXX Company and no result. I even tryed to get an answer from XX SERVICES XXX the company that is supossed to fix my phone. I was able to talk to someone from customer service. I told them that I am trying to get an update about my phone, but there is no way of getting a reponse from XXX Company. The lady I was talking to asked me what's my tracking number, name, device name etc. and said that I will receive a call back. Of course, nobody called me back, nor I was able to get in Touch with TXX SERVICES XXX after that. I even tried to call from different numbers and leave a voice message.
Is it anything to do about it? I feel like my phone has been stolen. It is hard to believe that in 2017 a company can treat a customer like that. I did some research and found out that XX Company is dealing with financial problems, ( it has not declared bankruptcy) but still, how can they take my phone, promise to fix it and then disappear?
Is it any law that can protect a customer from these kind of situations? I want to mention that I live in North Carolina and I already made a complain to Better Business Bureau.
Thank you very much!
