phone witness

What is the name of your state? Florida. The attorney that is assignee for Discover sent a letter saying he's asked the court to accept a witness over the phone because the witness is out of state. My court case about Discover debt is coming up soon after two hearings. I assume this "witness" is the Discover Card service center and they are going to say the CA actually has purchased my debt. Is this legal to have a phone witness for my case?

I read just yesterday that phone witnesses are allowed depending on the circumstances preventing an in-person appearance.
