What is the name of your state? NY
I work for the Federal government, and took digital photos at work during work hours with government camera. Can I copyright them or is it government property?

"Can I copyright them or is it government property?"

What did your boss say when you asked him (or are you a spy?)?

From your description, this would almost certainly be considered a "work for hire," which would mean that your employer -- the Feds -- would own the copyright, and not you.

And since work done BY the federal government ends up in the public domain, not only would you not own the pictures, nobody would -- anyone would be free to use them.

BTW, if you are a spy, I hope you aren't logged on from work or your home computer...
