My friend is being detained in a local jail here in Southern California. He failed to hear the Officer when they did the morning roll count. The detention officer yelled at him and he responded with a verbal comment. (don't be a dick head) This Detention Officer then Body Slammed him face first on the Concrete Floor. My friend is only 5'2 and weighs about 98 lbs. Also has a bullet lodged in his neck. He threaten to take action against the officer, then was pulled from his cubicle and put in to a higher security area, where he was told if he said anything that they would make him miserable. He is now afraid that they are going to put him in the "hole"? (what ever that is) Is this legal. Evidently, there were plenty of witnesses to this paticular incident of physical force and many of them said they would speak up for him. I understand that he has lost his rights. But, is this part of the rights that he has lost? To make it legal to physically abuse him because he is incarcerated? My question is, What can he do? And do you have any suggestions on who he might be able to contact.
