What is the name of your state? TX

Last night I was out on 6th street with some friends. Later in the night we decided to walk down the street and get a late dinner. On the way I got separated so I just decided to walk down to where we had decided to meet. Well, on the way there 2 officers stopped me and after a bit decided to take me in on a PI charge. My court date is on the 18th but they said I could go anytime before that so I'm going to go this Wed. and get it taken care of. I planned on pleading no contest. I was in the wrong and don't see a need in trying to get out of it since I did it. Anyhow, I think class Cs carry a 500 dollar fine and 3 months in jail. I'm worried about the jail thing. I doubt I would get any but am not sure and am a little nervous about it. Does anyone know what one generally gets in Travis County for this type of violation?

Thanks in advance,

K, how about in any state? Is jail time anything I need to be worried about? Isn't a PI basically a ticket?

Thanks in advance,

Well, a quick googlie turned up this....

Class C misdemeanor, max fine $500.

Specifics regarding Travis county? Dunno. But I know from experience that the city police don't take kindly to speeding on 35.

Thanks HH,

I had seen that but was still worried. I went this morning and wow, was I suprised. I gave my paper to the clerk and when she came back she said it was all taken care of. For some reason they credited me with 2 days in jail. I spent 6 hours so I'm not sure what happened. I didn't have to pay a fine or anything. I was so grateful and relieved. I've been a wreck all morning. All I know is I will never be that immature again. Live and learn I guess!

Thanks,
