What is the name of your state (California)?
I recently palced an ad on craigslist to sell 2 sheds. I was contacted thru email by a gentlemen who was interested in purchasing one of the sheds for $600. He would be responsible for removal of the shed. We went back and forth with a couple of emails with picturs of the shed and a description of the area he would be able to access to remove it. I decided that after looking at the house I am moving to I would be able to keep both sheds and place them at the new location. I emailed the gentlemen, explained that I was no longer going to sell the sheds and apologized for the inconvience. He then emailed me and stated we had an agreement and if I didn't sell him the shed he would sue me. No money ever exchanged hands and no agreements were ever signed. Can he sue me or his just trying to scare me into selling him the shed?

it doesn't sound like there ever was a contract. It merely looks like a pre contract investigation process. If so, that would give you the right to rescind the offer at any time.

a verbal contract is still a contract. Based on only what you have presented, it doesn't sound like you had ever actually come to the decision that he was in fact buying the shed.
