Bought plane tickets and the website said the flights were with KLM
KLM shares some routes with Delta Airlines. I do not want to go with delta.

Because I knew this, I looked for flights that are specifically operated by KLM only. The websites usually say "KLM, operated by Delta" if it is not by them.
So finally I found a cheap flight, it says KLM and nothing else.
Bought the tickets, tickets again say nothing but KLM
Went on the KLM website to check and it says it is actually Delta flying!
So went back to my travelagent- He even said, no no it was being operated by KLM after looking at my bookings.
But it is definitely not.

called their hotline and all they say is "No, it says 'operated by xy on our website". I said NO it doesn't, they said it does and I just got nowhere with them. Checked this flight on their website again and it really does not tell you.

Now isn't that legally wrong? I can't see that being okay. What are my rights? And what can I do?

Nope, codesharing is the standard of the industry and their under no obligation to tell you when it occurs. Further, if you bought through expedia or someone like that, you didn't buy the ticket from the airline, so they have no responsibility for any misconceptions you had.

You are joking!!

Wow

Well, actually I bought those tickets from a travel agent in London and here is a nice sentence from the contract I got along with my ticket

"In accordance with EU Regulation 2111/2005 we are required to advise you of the actual carrier
operating your flight/connecting flight/transfer"

I like the sound of that a lot! this is how it should be!!

And your legal question is? Do you want your money back for the ticket you bought? Do you want Delta/KLM to re-arrange their schedule to accomodate you? What's wrong with Delta?

Ah, so you want to take me to task because you lied in your initial post and said this issue had something to do with the US law.

Sorry, we can't help you with your UK and EU issues.
The US is subject to neither.
