I love how certain political figures carry on about "protecting marriage" and "defense of marriage", when, in fact, it is really, statistically, the heterosexual couples that most often disdain marriage.

I know.. I love the whole idea of banning same sex marriage on the idea of preserving the sanctity of marriage... Um.. HELLO!!! Have they looked at the divorce statistics?

Personally I think they are afraid that same sex marriages (or even common law if states brought those back in those that have banned it) will last longer and become the 'norm' statistic wise.

Have you heard? The same-sex pioneers have separated:

All of these damn states who did or have tried to pass "same sex marriage" bans is just ridiculous and a waste of time. I remember reading a poll awhile ago where most people don't care about same-sex marriages. But yet, states (like Ohio where it's believe the passing of the ill-written "marriage amendment" pretty much got Bush our state in the election) are quick to get this language on the ballot. This issue is only 'sexy' at election time, which is why this is heating up again.

Religion, morals and politics. 3 chemicals that simply do NOT mix. Nor should they.

Where did this get off topic of man and women living together , to gay marriage ?

What the Court is saying is the State has no right dictating who lives with who . Man and women living together under the state law was considered a crime .

I remember in my State years ago Welfare denying benefits to mothers of children if the boyfriend was living in their home , where they were not married .

These mothers were running around trying to get people to sign letters there was no man living in their homes just to get benefits .
