At 22 years old, I was charged with a bank robbery that I did not commit in the state of Michigan. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people (hard lesson learned). My attorney (public defender) advised me to plead NOLO and accept a shorter prison sentence because he believed I would be convicted if I went to trial. I received a one to five year sentence of which I served approximately 2 years of state time. I have been on parole now for 11 months. I have always aspired to attend medical school and practice medicine and was well on my way there prior to this incident. Is there any way to have my record expunged once my parole has been satisfactorily completed or will this blemish follow me for the rest of my life?
Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

My response:

No State? No help.

Was this Federal or State time you served?
