What is the name of your state? Illinois

What is the name of your state? I live in Illinois. 5 years ago I sold some items on an internet auction, received payment but never delivered the items. I know this was very stupid, but I was going through a family crisis. Is there any reason to this day for me to be concerned about possible criminal charges after so long has passed? The total received was about $1,200 from 4 different individuals. I would be more than happy to find these people and make restitution to clear my conscience, but have no way to find them. I have ruined the last 5 years of my life worrying about this situation. Has the statute of limitations run out by now? I am worried sick over this for the past 5 years. I have no recollection of who or where.

Springfever, let me shake your hand. You're a rare breed! :)

Nowadays people can sue you for whatever reason, even if you're innocent.
Your best chance to ward it off is to try negotiating for a settlement of sorts,
but still expect the worst.

I'm sorry I don't know anything about the statute of limitations in your state.
But has contacting the internet auction you sold the items produced any +
results whatsoever? (though I doubt it.)

If they haven't done anything by now, they aren't going to. SOL is probably over, depending on their state in which case you could just claim wrong jurisdiction.

The statute for filing a civil suit has probably run out (usually no more than 2 years), but if someone wanted to pursue fraud charges....that's a question for your local D.A's office. You can probably look it up online under your state's laws.

Chances of the injured parties doing anything after this long...small.

The kind of person you would show to be if you paid them back....BIG!
