What is the name of your state? Illinois

What is the name of your state? I live in Illinois. 5 years ago I sold some items on an internet auction, received payment but never delivered the items. I know this was very stupid, but I was going through a family crisis. Is there any reason to this day for me to be concerned about possible criminal charges after so long has passed? The total received was about $1,200 from 4 different individuals. I would be more than happy to find these people and make restitution to clear my conscience, but have no way to find them. I have ruined the last 5 years of my life worrying about this situation. Has the statute of limitations run out by now? I am worried sick over this for the past 5 years. I have no recollection of who or where.

I don't know any legal information but I was just taken for about $200 and am quite upset about it. I was purchasing something for my son and they never delivered. They also took about $1400 from 4 other individuals. I am glad to hear that you feel badly about it. I don't think the people that took my money care at all, no e-mails, etc. How can you not have any record of who gave you payment though?

I did it intentionally. I had no thoughts of ever sending the items. I'm in no way making excuses, but my life was in complete turmoil at the time. I figured making a few quick bucks would ease some pressure. Now, the pressure from guilt and remorse is worse than the orignal problems I had. Is this something I should still be worried about 5 years later??

You know I just recently did a very stupid act, something that I can not even believe I actually did because it is so against my nature. I wish I could turn back the clocks but that is impossible. I think you need to put it to rest. If nothing has happened in 5 years I think you are safe. You have suffered enough with your own self inflicted guilt. Try and let it go and enjoy life.
