What is the name of your state? Va

Other than the things that are automatically excluded from discharge (student loans) is there anything else that is excluded without notice or will the trustee or court exclude things that one might not know are not able to be included in a Chapter 7?

I'm sure LNR will be around before much longer but, I'll try and help.
Things like judgments from accidents involving impaired driving, monetary fines and judgments from criminal acts, courtordered child/spousal support are some that come to mind.
Is there anything specific to your case that caused you to ask the question?

Yes, specificity would help you get the answer you need. Because generally, the answer to your question is no, only the things by designated by code as priority, like student loans, would not be discharged in a Chapter 7. (and debts that are reaffirmed) There may be circumstances that override that statement, however.

Further details

My sister had her Chapter 7 discharged back in February and one of the creditors was a law firm that was collecting for a fine. I don't know what kind of fine, but I do know that the fine was from 14 years ago. Yesterday a wage attachment was stuck to her door. The good news is that they mailed the employer's copy to the wrong address, so there is some time to figure out whether or not the trustee had to specifically exclude it from the discharge before her paycheck will get attached.
