I live in North Carolina with my maternal grandmother and grandfather. I am 17 years old.
Recently I left my mothers house in Georgia because verbal abuse and deprivation was the norm. I left and she agreed to withdraw me from school.
It is Friday now, so I have missed 5 days of school, and my mother still has not withdrawn me from my previous school.
My grandmother has racked her brains trying to get me into school, but apparently my mother, along with withdrawing me from my school in Georgia, either has to give my grandmother custody or sign an affidavit
of abandonment for me to be able to enroll here. Policy here is if you miss 10 days of instruction, you forfeit your credits for that semester.
My mother refuses to give my grandmother custody or release all parental rights.
I cannot go stay with my father and go to school where he resides - about 45 mins away from my grandmothers. He is jobless, and his mothers house he is living in is about to be sold, after which he will move in with his girlfriend a few hours away. He also has problems with prescription pain pills, and apparently still does since I discovered a new bottle in his drawer. But, my mother wants me to be forced to live with him because she hates my grandmother(her mom).
So my mother wants me to lose credit for school this semester. If I am not in attendance next FRIDAY(one week from now) I will lose credit.
I am an intelligent kid, and I'm relying on my grades and education to get me out of this adversity. All I want to do is have a normal life, go to highschool, make good grades, and go to college. My mother will have none of it.
What can I do?
