 I am in San Francisco, California.
I got a citation of infraction because of fare evasion on a SF MUNI metro train. I presented a Youth pass but I am over 17. And I provided wrong information to the fare inspector: one of the letters of my first name was wrong, my address and birthdate were wrong. Should I still go to the court? If I appear and get convicted, will I have a criminal record? Will there be worse penalty because I provided false information?
Thank you very much for helping me out! I really don't know what to do.

So you gave them this wrong information? Consult a attorney.

Hey
I am a sophomore at Lowell High School and I am currently writing a news article about muni and the recent resolution for youth 18-21 which allows that age group to pay $35 instead of $45 for an adult pass. I read your question and I'm wondering if you could share your experience with me. I am particularly wondering about the the penatly you received and what you think about the resolution.

I hope to hear from you soon!
