I'm on section 8 voucher. I live in Texas. The Corsicana Housing Authority let me move into a house without it being inspected. The housing autjority directory talked to owner and owners brother telling them I needed a place to live asap and the brother and director agreed the house would pass inspection. I moved in on Oct 2 2000. The L and I went to the CHA(Corsicana housing authority) and filled out alot of papers . the CHA paid rent for Oct and Nov rent. then in Nov they came out to inspect the house in Oct and found 3 things to be fixed. they told us to fix them when we have a chance. then in Nov they wrote a letter to the l and told her they will not pay Dec rent because the house did not pass inspection. I have talked to hud and they are going after the director for allowing me to move in a house without it being inspected first. but the L took me to court and I was evicted the L has let me stay in the house until Jan 1st then I have to be out. we supened the director of CHA to court Because the L can not evict a tenant for nonpayment of the housing authority.as long as i have paid my part which i have. the director told the court there is no HAP contract.(housing assistance payment) the L says all she knows is she signed alot of papers and the director has paid her 2 months rent and told her they had a contract but now hes says they dont. my question is does the L and the CHA have a verbal contract The L thinks they do but the director is trying to save hes own but since hes in alot of trouble with hus he has to give hud back the 2 months rent they paid to my L. sorry this is so long but when talking about section 8 its alot more complicaded. please help i have to be out in a short time Jan 1st ill be homeless.

You will not be evicted Jan 1 because L needs a court order in order to evict. If you do receive notice to go to court, you must plead not guilty and the court will set a trial date.
In the meantime see if you can go to Legal Aid to get an attorney to help you.

Go and see a local real estate attorney for free consultation. It sounds like you have already agreed or the court has ordered you to be out.
