Please Help owner of property vs.tax lienholder

I had a property out of state that had back taxes owed on it(I became sick on my job and went out on disability). My taxes were delinquent but paid with documented reciepts and I was in constant communication with my tax representatives .One year I received a notice of lien on the property ,I sent proof of payment to the lienholder and they left me alone. I encountered racial threats and the county police dept were of little assistance so the property was empty at least 2-3years before finally being sold.
I set up a closing date all papers were prepared, and then every thing was cancelled because the same lienholder put a lien on my property causing me to have to pay them $14,000.00 before they would give me a quick claim deed. They never served notice of lien or debt due and they had information on all my addresses.I never knew my property was auctioned off at a sheriffs sale(there was a bond for excess funds being held by the sheriffs dept). They claimed to have put an ad in the paper knowing I was an out of state Property owner all the time.I sold the property at a loss of a total of $22,000.00.
I feel the tax dept of that state did me a grave injustice the worker who tried to help me when I walked into the tax office to get help was fired and I know there are a lot of things wrong with this entire lienholder bussiness but I just dont know where to turn nor the funds to sue. After all I am 1 person fighting against the tax division & the lienholder both are in error and I can prove it!Can you help, advise me on what or where to go for help?Thank you sincerly; Bdetfree

We can't give you any help. We don't know what state the property was in! At any rate, you're going to have to hire a real estate attorney in the same state as the property. Visit the area and start interviewing.

This is not legal advice and you are not my client. Double check everything with your own attorney and your state's laws.
