What is the name of your state? AL but MS jurisdiction

As some of you know, my husband won temporary of his daughter. Thanks again to all of you for your support during that awful time.

Now, please help again if you can. My stepdaughter does not want to speak to her mother. My husband has made her call her mother 3 times, but the mother has made no effort to call the child. We set up an email for the child to email her mother, but the emails from her mother were very cold and my stepdaughter said she was not going to do it anymore. How much of keeping in contact with the other parent is my husband's responsibility? It's been all one-sided so far.

Also, the ex is supposed to come to AL for visitation this Saturday, August 5th. My stepdaughter said she absolutely won't go and does not want to see her mother. My husband told her she had to go, that she did not get to decide and that she should think of places she would like to show her mother while her mother was here. My stepdaughter said "if she won't call me, if she has to email ugly stuff, why do I have to see her?" Do you think it would be ok to let the child take one of our cell phones to call us during the visit if it get's awful?

Well....that may just make the visit worse. If the child knows that she has an "out" to end the visit then she is likely to use it. However, you could perhaps give her the cell phone to use and simply say "in case of an emergency"...so that she doesn't view it as an "out".

That's what I was trying to think of! I didn't want to give her an excuse but also give her some security but I couldn't think of the word "out". Brain dead today, I guess. Thanks.
