What is the name of your state?Ohio
I am a father of a 29 month old child with special needs (cerebral palsy, has 5+ siezures per day, has a VP shunt which is a tube from her brain to her stomach for drainage, has a PDA metal clip on her heart, wheres AFO braces on both legs and still not walking yet, has physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy every week, and numerous learning delays). I am very aggresive with her medical needs. Now, however, her mother (my wife) is packing up and leaving her daughter and everything. She is moving from Ohio to Florida. I am panicking in trying to find some organization for children with disabilities to provide a nurse to take care of her while I work. My shift is odd. I work Friday, Saturday, and Sundays from 3:30AM-3:00PM. Then I'm off Monday-Thursday. The problem is that the organizations that I have talked to keep trying tell me I'm looking for a "babysitter" and they dont do that. This is incredible. I need sombody there with medical knowledge as a precaution in case she has one of those bad days and somthing takes a turn for the worse. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MY DAUGHTERS RIGHTS ARE IN THIS SITUATION? Thank you.

Look in your local phone listings, under the title faimly attorneys.they will advise you as to what services and state agency's your child is entitled to. you can also call child protective services, they may be able to advise you. You can also advertise in the local papers for a care give for a special needs child. Good Luck .darkshadow
