What is the name of your state? colorado

If you fill out a census and misspell your name is it possible to have other people get attatched to you and ruin your credit?

I am newly married and found out that my husband has a bankrupcy in his past. He insists that it was not due to his spending habits. His story is that when he filled out a census his name was mispelled and other people with bad credit got attatched to his ss#.

Can anyone verify if this is a possibility or am I being lied to? :(

What a bunch of hooey. Census forms have never required SSN's and there is no way for debts to be attached to his name if he spelled it wrong. You are being fed a load of BS. His bankruptcy filing is public record, if you know where he filed you can go get a copy of it yourself.
