What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN
I am currently attending ITT Tech. I filled out one of their online questionaires about getting more info on the school. I got a call the next day and was asked to come in for a tour so I could check out the DEGD program that I had asked about. After the tour they sat me down and talked to me about the classes. It was explained to me that the bachelor's classes I wanted to take were the exact same classes as the associates and that if I signed up for the associates I could get the associates and the bachelors in the same time frame as just the bachelors. They informed me that when I finished the associates degree I would just move straight into the bachelors program.
Fast Forward 1 1/2 years.
I will have completed the associates degree at the end of this week. I found out 5 weeks ago that the classes for my bachelors program will not be offered due to lack of students to start the program. I've spent these past 5 weeks making phone calls and talking to administration at the school to try and come up with a solution to this problem. I've had no offers from the corporate offices of ITT and none from the school admin. My only option at this point is to take classes in another program until they have enough students to start my bachelors program (15). I can't take time off because ITT handles my finances and I'm grandfathered into a program they no longer offer so I'm forced to pay about 10 thousand extra dollars to just get into my program.
I've got one more snag to go.
When ITT does offer the program again, if I'm the only one of the 15 students that has the associates degree, the other 14 are started in the associates level classes and I'm left without classes again because ITT won't offer classes to less than 10 students. Now that I've been figuring all of this out, I was told today in a meeting with the director of my school that because ITT is evaluated by the state and by the accredidation board based on its withdrawal numbers, they could deny letting me enroll into another program because I'm knowingly enrolling into a program that I'm going to drop.
Any advice on this matter would be most appreciated.
Oh yeah, I have a 3.3 GPA, have won design competitions, am president of a student organization, and have a federal work study with the school financial aid department.
