indiana here. i have a court date in december, i am being sued for 3,000 dollars for misleading someones feelings,or he states.
i received a letter from him saying he has hired a private investagater to look into my past, and is going to bring this to court and tell the judge what he finds out, the case is only going to be a 15 minute hearing, will the judge allow him to go into my past it has nothing todo with the case. and can i put in a motion to have the hearing moved to another date? and if so how do i go about doing this?

Go to the courthouse and ask the clerk for the form requesting a continuance. There will be fees involved because the plaintiff muct be informed of the change.
